Feast of Unleavened Bread

Saturday, April 28th, 2012

The Seven Feasts of the Lord are not food feasts. They are holy convocations, appointed times, dress rehersals. For 1500 years the Jews killed the passover lambs. Finally, the day came. Jesus, the sacrificial Lamb of God died at the same time as the other 250,000 lambs died– all were slain at the 12th hour. God planned it that way.

The Feast of Unleaved Bread begins the 2nd day of Passover and last 7 days. “Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread”. This Holy Convocation is about removing the “leaven” or sin from our lives. This is a time of cleansing every aspect of one’s life. The unleavened bread that is to be eaten during this time has groves and small holes which represent the stripes and piercing of our Lord on that dreadful day.

This Feast celebrates Israel being delivered from bondage in Egypt. Lev.23:6. A morning and evening sacrifice was offered. Only unleaven bread is eaten. Exodus 12:19 states the seriousness of the commandment from God. “Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.” Leaven is symbolic of sin and the Passover was a memorial to God’s delivering them from slavery in Egypt, but also a time of repentance and the putting away of sin. Galatians 5:9 says, “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” The picture is that of one diligently searching for and getting rid of sin even the smallest sin in one’s life. Therefore, any and all sin is to be confessed and put out of one’s life.

The 1st and 7th day like a Sabbath everyone rested with the exception of those preparing the food. The 2nd day a barley sheaf of the new harvest was symbolically waived before the Lord. (First Fruits). 1 Corinthians 5:7-8. Paul referred to the Passover and Unleaven Bread. “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and ickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”

From a “New Testament” propective, we MUST know and understand the Feasts of the Lord. We must take time to “purge our leaven”. We must attend churches that teach and celebrate the Feasts not Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. In America we teach our kids this Pagan Worship from what age 2. And often they actually go to Easter egg hunts, Halloween and Christmas parties at church. 2012 – Make it a year of change. We will provide many resources at the end of this 7-part study.

The Seven Feasts – Passover

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

Passover is a memorial, a holy convocation, a Mikra Kodesh, a calling together for sacred assembly. All of the High Holy Days have historical, prophetic and messianic significance. These Feasts are called the Feasts of the Lord in scripture, not the Feasts of Israel. It is a mistake to negate their significance to Israel. They should have value to anyone who calls himself a Believer. According to the chronology of the bible, the first Passover occurred around 1441 BC; God instructed Moses and Aaron on every detail of the first Passover in Exodus 12.

The Passover Seder is the ceremonial meal at the beginning of Passover. The Jewish Holy days of Leviticus 23 are Biblical Holy Days. Passover is just one of a few High Holy Days that we are commanded to observe as a perpetual statute throughout all generations.

Today many Christians are studying and celebrating the Biblical Holidays. By doing this they are observing the same traditions observed by Yeshua and also Paul. Paul gave instructions to the Gentile church at Corinth on how to observe Passover. In Exodus 12 We can read the instructions for the celebration of Passover. There it says, the same law applies to the native as to the stranger.

According to Romans 11:17-24, Gentiles who accept the Messiah are grafted into the Jewish Olive Tree. Ephesians 1:12-13 says that Gentiles were excluded from citizenship of Israel, but now have been brought near by the blood of the Messiah. It is a privilege to partake of the spiritual citizenship. Along with the privilege comes responsibilities, including God’s commandments.

Passover celebrates the deliverance of Israel from Pharaoh and the Exodus from Egypt. The Haggadah is the book used during the Seder, retelling the events of the Exodus story. Several rituals are observed, including drinking four glasses of wine or grape juice. Their significance is representative of sanctification, deliverance, redemption, and acceptance.

Passover is Nisan 14 or April 14. Feast of Unleaven Bread is Nisan 15. It lasts 7 days. Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits and Pentecost are Spring Feasts. These feasts were fulfilled . We no longer need to find a lamb without blemish, slaughter it, drain its blood, put its blood on the door posts and lintels, roast it, and burn the remains after the Seder. Jesus was our Passover Lamb. The Passover Lamb is no longer the atoning sacrifice.

The last week of Jesus’ life was an incredible time. He raises Lazarus from the dead, rides into Jerusalem on a donkey, goes to the temple to teach, dines in the home of Simon, the Leper where Mary of Bethany, Lazarus’ sister came to Jesus with an alabaster flask of perfume. She poured the valuable perfume on Jesus. She was expressing that she knew he was about to give of himself for her. John and Peter secure the Upper room for the Passover Meal and it is there that Jesus washes his disciples’ feet, explaining he was there to make them clean.

During the last supper Jesus sets apart the Passover bread and cup and reassigns their meaning. The bread is His Body. The cup, His blood, this meal will no longer primarily remind them of God’ s deliverance from the tyranny of Pharaoh, but rather from the internal tyranny of their own guilt and sin against God. Jesus prays for them and with them. Then Jesus leaves for Mount of Olives to pray and then makes his way to Gethsemane where he is betrayed by one of his own.

Fullfilment of the Feasts

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

Now that we have some clarity about Easter Sunday, Easter eggs,Easter bunnies and Easter Dresses, let us discuss what Resurrection Day really is for Christians. It is acknowledging and celebrating the Fulfillment of the Feasts of the Lord. Celebration of Easter is idolotry!

There are SEVEN ANNUAL FEASTS OF THE LORD. These are appointed times with God; Holy convocations. These Seven Biblical Feasts are God’s Feasts, not Jewish Feasts. The Four Annual Feasts celebrated in the Spring have been fulfilled by Jesus. The three remaining feasts celebrated in the Fall will be fulfilled upon His return. The era between these two periods in history is “the Church Age”. See a lunar calendar online for feast dates. This is a basic outline that you can use to study this subject in more detail.

God’s eternal plan from chaos to eternity is ingeniously revealed through the nature and timing of The Seven Annual Feasts of the Lord. See Leviticus 23

Passover – Pesach
(Jesus was our Passover Lamb)
Pesach:

Passover commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, as recorded in the book of Exodus. On Passover, Jews also celebrate the birth of the Jewish nation after being freed by God from captivity. Today, the Jewish people not only remember an historic event on Passover, but also celebrate in a broad sense, their freedom as Jews.

The Hebrew word Pesach means “to pass over.” During Passover Jews take part in a meal known as the Seder, which incorporates the retelling of the story of Exodus and God’s deliverance from bondage in Egypt. Each participant of the Passover Seder experiences in a personal way, a national celebration of freedom through God’s intervention and deliverance. Hag HaMatzah or the Feast of Unleavened Bread and Yom HaBikkurim or Firstfruits are both mentioned in Leviticus 23 as separate feasts, however, today Jews celebrate all three feasts as part of the eight-day Passover holiday.

Today, Passover begins on day 15 of the Hebrew month of Nissan (March or April) and continues for 8 days. Originally, Passover began at twilight on the 14th day of Nissan (Leviticus 23:5), and then the next day, day 15, the Feast of Unleavened Bread would begin and continue for seven days (Leviticus 23:6).

Truth about Easter III

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

Continuing from Part II: Early Christians celebrated the feasts, they had nothing to do with pagan idolatrous observances such as Easter. Some have believed that Easter was observed by the Church because of Acts 12:4, which says: “And when he had appreneded him, he put him in prison and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to kedp him, intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.”(KJV) It appears from the KJV of the Bible that the mention of “Easter” in verse 4 would indicate the observance of the Easter holiday by the church. However, when you look up the Greek word for “Easter”, one finds it is the word pascha which means”Passover”. The KJV Version mistranslated the Greek word pascha as “Easter”. As time went on, the church began to compromise, and the Roman Catholic Church came into existence.

When Constantine, the emperor of Rome, was converted to Christianity, he made Christianity the state religion in 313 A.D. under the Roman Catholic Church. In order to please the Roman pagans and persuade them to join the Roman Catholic Church, many pagan customs were brought into the church. Constantine decreed the celebration of Easter to occur on the Sunday following the first full moon of the vernal equinox at the Roman Catholic Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D.

The Roman Catholic church also instituted the 40 day period preceeding Easter called Lent. The 40 day period of abstinence of Lent was directly borrowed from the worshippers of the Babylonian sun god. To pagans merged into the Roman Catholic Church, Lent was the preliminary to the great annual festival celebrating the deth and ressurrection of Tammuz. Thus, the Roman Catholic Church merged Lent and Easter with the celebration of the death and resurrection of Christ. Jesus Christ, then, became as Tammuz to the pagans, the messiah and Savior of the world.

True Born Again Christians have always resisted the observance of Lent and Easter. Easter eventually gained entrance into America throught the Roman catholics who settled in the colonies. However, Easter was not widely observed in America until the Civil War period. Since then with the continual spiritual declien of America, Satan has been able to make Eater a dominant holiday. Why do Christians celebrate this holiday? Many do so ignorantly. They do not know the true origin of Easter. The truth is if one celebrates Easter, he is really honoring and embracing all the ancient traditions of Babylonian false religion. And, in case you don’t know, Babylon is now called Iraq.

The Bible says to keep ourselves away from idols. Therefore, all Christians must not compromise the truth, but stand up and reject Easter! This article and part I, II and III contain excerpts from a pamplet written by Pastor David Middleton, The Truth about Easter. Katie Souza

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

Katie Souza taught in Phoenix recently. She was incredible! I heard her speak two years ago at a conference with Patricia King and others. I do not remember the others. I remember Katie was awesome. Patricia King was awesome. Katie’s Praise & Worship team, gospel singer and Minister, Bernadette Alvarado, was awesome. This was April 2010. At the conference I purchased her 6 part CD, The Healing School. I studied Katie’s teachings. I feel she is authentic and genuine, and her teaching is always very scriptural. The conference was life changing!

Katie’s recent appearance was at Church for the Nations in Phoenix. She was a part of the “Women on the Front lines” conference line up. She is well known for her “The Healing School” CD. She teaches extensively on how we have soul wounds that we must heal through reading God’s Word and allowing ourselves to move into the Spirit realm and receive the healing necessary to heal our wounds. Last week’s teaching was on our soul wounds from being OFFENDED. I know it sounds wierd. She used scripture on healing, being offended and forgiveness and presented an incredible teaching on how our souls have wounds from being offended; that we must forgive people and avoid becoming offended–she defined offended and we found that offended, insulted, angered, hurt, accused, wounded, are all similar emotions.

When you think about it, if we are walking in line with the Word of God, and walking in Love, we cannot allow ourselves to become offended by what people say and do. We must forgive! Boy, this was quite a revelation. Most of us, myself included, are OFFENDED daily. Newsflash, when we are OFFENDED, we are out of forgiveness. We are in sin. We open the door. When we sin, Satan has the “legal right” to enter. We open ourselves up and allow demonic spirits in. Some scripture we discussed: “And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.” Matt: 11:6; “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Cor. 12:10; But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me”. 2 Cor; In return for my love they accuse me, but I give myself to prayer. Psalm 109:4. She spent time putting scripture in context and providing clear evidence of God’s Word on this subject.

Katie shared stories about being OFFENDED at the Airport, during her visits to various prisons, and she even tells a story about her husband being OFFENDED in a business transaction on the internet and how she became involved with his emotions and she became OFFENDED. Katie spent the last 20 minutes of her teaching talking about the Dunamis Power of God, what that means, the way Jesus used Dunamis (The Highest Power), and how man was given dominion and authority to walk in the supernatual, in the same Dunamis (Power) that was given to Jesus. We must develop our faith. We must have more light than dark. We must submit, pray, know Jesus and take on his likeness and nature. And then we will realize our Dunamis (Power) and Authority. She teaches that some evangelists, pastors, prophets have worked to perfect themselves and they have more light than dark; they have received anointing. That is why some can heal others, it’s a Dunamis anointing.

I happen to have a website called DunamisUSA.com. (It’s worth a visit). Katie was singing to the choir. Katie’s teachings are lifechanging. Recognize and celebrate your defining moments. You will discover that you will have one after another after another. We recommend studying Katie Souza’s CDs. Google Katie Souza Utube for a preview or Click Here.
